RIDOT making additional shifts to Oxford Street for upcoming weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) -RIDOT director Peter Alviti, tells ABC6 News that additional lane splits will be made in-between exit 18 and the 95 interchange in order to create a safe work zone so crews can rapidly replace the bridge deck one lane at a time.

“On the northbound side have a split with two lanes, on either side of construction, and on the southbound side there will be two lanes on one side and three on the other,” said Director Alviti.

This phase of the project is expected to take a week.

During the work motorists will be unable to access exit 18 while on 95-south, detours will be marked.
