RIDOT Officials recognize National Work Zone Awareness Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Rhode Island Department of Transportation officials are reminding motorists to drive safely in work zones.

As the weather gets nicer and more roadway projects get underway, Rhode Island Department of Transportation Director Peter Alviti, Jr. will join officials from the Rhode Island State Police, Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority, Federal Highway Administration, Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association, AAA Northeast, The Laborers’ International Union of North America and the Rhode Island Building Construction Trades Council to remind drivers to travel safely through work zones.

April 21st through April 25th is recognized as National Work Zone Awareness Week.
