RIDOT postpones I-295 lane reduction to next Friday
CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said that the planned lane reduction on Interstate 295 at the Mendon Road Bridge has been postponed to Sept. 29.
The work was originally scheduled to begin tonight but was postponed due to “expected stormy weather.”

The work will involve a reduction from three lanes to two on both sides of the bridge to allow for rehabilitation of the bridge.
RIDOT said the lane reduction will be in place until late 2024, and the project should be completed by summer 2025.
