RIDOT to close part of road in Providence for bridge work

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said it would temporarily close Elmwood Avenue at the Route 10 overpass on Oct. 17 for bridge work.
The closure will affect both sides of traffic and begins at 11 p.m.
RIDOT said the closure is happening so it can set pre-fabricated bridge beams on the footings for the new Route 10 bridge.
The closure will last until approximately 2 p.m. on Oct. 18.
RIDOT said the following detours will be put in place:
Elmwood Avenue Northbound: Use Park Avenue eastbound, turn right onto Route 10 northbound, and take the Elmwood Avenue exit.
Elmwood Avenue Southbound: Take Route 10 northbound to reverse direction on Route 10 at I-95, then take the Elmwood Avenue exit.
I-95 North to Roger Williams Park: Take Exit 33B for Elmwood Avenue and turn right at the end of the ramp and follow Elmwood Avenue southbound to Park Avenue. Drivers can turn left to follow the detour using Park Avenue eastbound to Route 10 or use the park entrance near Park View Middle School in Cranston.
I-95 South to Roger Williams Park: Take Exit 34. Drivers accessing Roger Williams Park from I-95 southbound will not be affected by this road closure.
