RIDOT to shift lanes at I-95/Route 4 merge in Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department Transportation said it will shift all travel lanes to the right for road work where Interstate 95 North and Route 4 North merge in Warwick on April 11.

The the department said the change will be part of a project to widen the highway corridor to provide more space for merging traffic.

All travel lanes will remain open but narrowed during peak travel hours, but lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. are also likely to occur.

The lane shift will be in place until early summer followed by a second phase with lanes shifted to the left. All work is expected to be complete by the fall.
