RIPTA buses, paratransit now operating at full capacity

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) announced Friday all buses and paratransit vehicles are now operating at full capacity.
Passengers are still required to wear a face covering at all times while onboard, regardless of vaccination status.
The mandate requiring face coverings on public transportation was extended last month through mid-September.
RIPTA says children under two and those who have a disability that prevents them from wearing face coverings are exempt onboard buses. Those who cannot comply with the face covering mandate due to a disability are required to contact RIPTA prior to their ride for an exemption.
