RIPTA’s Wave smart fare system back up and running

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Customers riding RITPA busses will be able to pay using their Wave app once again, RIPTA announced on Tuesday.
RIPTA said that the smart fare collection system is fully functional, after being down this week.
Passengers weren’t able to reload the funds on their Wave app using credit and debit cards. A spokesperson from RIPTA said that the issue stemmed from CyberSource, the vendor responsible for processing credit and debit transactions for the app.
RIPTA said that the system error didn’t affect any customers’ financial information.
