The new Department of Health and Human Services computer system launches Tuesday.

It’s the largest IT project in Rhode Island history…

The $364 million initiative tracks state services and assists with benefits. It replaced a 30-year-old system, but resulted in over 70 department layoffs.

Officials say it will save the state around $55 million in the next fiscal year.

The goal is to make it more convenient for Rhode Islanders to use state services.
