RI’s Elizabeth Beisel Swims into 400 IM Final in London with Fastest Time

Gold medal favorite Elizabeth Beisel qualified for the final of the 400 IM with the fastest time in the heats this morning in London. The Saunderstown native easily won her heat in a time of four minutes 31:68 seconds.
China's Ye Shiwen was second fastest, .05 behind Beisel's time. That sets up an exciting final this afternoon in London. Beisel came into the Olympics as the favorite to win the gold in the event.
Elizabeth will also swim the 200-backstroke next Thursday.
