RISP identifies human remains found in Foster as missing Warwick woman

FOSTER, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island State Police said officials have identified the human remains found in a wooded area in Foster as a missing Warwick woman.

On March 26, RISP said police discovered a body in the area of 88 Plainfield Pike in Foster.

RISP Major Crimes Unit, RISP Forensic Services Unit, Warwick police, and the State Medical Examiner’s Office identified the human remains as 56-year-old Michele Romano.

RISP said Romano was reported missing on August 18, 2024 by a family member to the Warwick Police Department.

RISP, Warwick police, and the Office of the Attorney General are investigating the circumstances regarding Romano’s death.
