RISP: Man dies after ATV crash in Exeter

EXETER, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island State Police said a man died from his injuries after an ATV crash in Exeter on Dec. 27.

33-year-old Michael Pelletier, of Exeter, died from his injuries on Tuesday after a crash on Dec. 27.

RISP troopers and Exeter firefighters responded to a crash on Liberty Church Road around 5:30 p.m. for a crash involving two all-terrain vehicles (ATV).

According to RISP, three ATVs were traveling on Liberty Church Road when the first vehicle slowed, and was struck by the second ATV.

Pelletier, who was driving the second ATV, as well as his 33-year-old passenger, were ejected from the vehicle.

RISP said both victims were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

They were taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

On Tuesday, RISP said Pelletier died from his injuries at the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
