River flood warnings in effect with more rain expected

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — With more rain expected Thursday night and through the weekend, river flood warnings are in effect.

One road in Johnston is completely flooded, with Bellfield Drive conditions making for some difficult travel.

Despite the lull in the rain Thursday, heavier rain in the forecast could worsen the flooding throughout Rhode Island.

The Pawtuxet River is of particular worry, as it is a hotspot of flooding when heavy rains fall.

Some areas are at risk for power outages, and homes could be at risk of mold if affected items are not dried off within a 24-hour period.
