Road closures at Roger Williams Park for construction of new boardwalk
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The City of Providence said temporary road closures began at Roger Williams Park on Monday for the construction of a new boardwalk.
According to a spokesperson for the City of Providence, Maple Avenue and Pine Avenue at Cladastris Avenue will be closed for about four to six weeks.
During this time, access to Park Avenue via Greene Memorial Boulevard will be limited, and drivers will be diverted to the park entrance and exit locations at Broad Street and Montgomery Avenue and Elmwood Avenue.
Construction of the new 300-foot timber boardwalk at Cunliff Lake began on Nov. 17.
The project will include a fishing overlook and accessible boat ramp.
