Roger Williams Park Zoo keeping animals cool during the heat
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Roger Williams Park Zoo is keeping its animals cool during the heat in Southern New England.
Staff said the animals have the choice on whether or not to be outside, and that they have water fountains and ice blocks.
“Most of our animals have certain enrichment, whether that be ice blocks filled with little goodies inside, or kinda like today how we had the sprinklers on for the elephants,” Roger Williams Park Zoo exhibit interpreter Dylan Brouillette said.
Zookeepers are also monitoring the animals to make sure they don’t overheat.
