Roger William’s Park Zoo’s beloved cheetah dies from underlying medical condition
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Roger William’s Park Zoo shared on their Instagram Thursday that its beloved cheetah, Becca, has passed away.
RWPZoo said that the cheetah passed peacefully surrounded by the staff that cared for her.
Becca battled gastritis, an ailment that is common among cheetahs, RWPZoo shared.
Intensive efforts were made to alleviate the medical issues but her condition continued to worsen.
During a recent medical exam, it was decided that further medical treatment would not be attainable.
The difficult decision was made to humanely euthanize the ten-year-old cheetah.
