Runners & Walkers Race In Scott Carlson 5K To Help Fight ALS

Nearly 500 runners and walkers taking part in the Scott Carlson 5K at Goddard Park in Warwick Saturday. The event raises money to help fight ALS, a disease that took the life of Scott Carlson at age 39. In the 17 years the race has been put together, nearly a half million dollars has been raised. ABC6 Sports Director Ken Bell was the emcee for the event.

William Sanders of Wethersfield, RI, was the men’s winner with a time of 14:59.8. Carly Wynn was the women’s winner, finishing in 19:17.4.
