Save the Bay’s Hamilton Family Aquarium to open its doors in Newport
NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — Save the Bay’s Hamilton Family Aquarium will be open to the public in Newport Thursday morning.
The aquarium has been three years and several million dollars in the making, and today the public can finally see what the attraction has in store.
“We’re very excited to open this to the public,” said Executive Director of the aquarium Topher Hamblett.
“The mission of Save the Bay is to protect and improve Narragansett Bay and we’ve been at it for 53 years now,” said Hamblett.
The aquarium is way for people to connect directly to the bay and experience the bay in a whole different way.”
The aquarium features numerous species of fish, sharks, turtles, jellyfish and more.
“We expect people to be inspired as soon as they walk in and see what’s around here,” said Hamblett.
“I think the excitement that we feel is going to be felt by everyone that walks through these doors.”
