Pawtucket candy maker adjusts the way they do business because of COVID-19
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) – Pawtucket candy maker Seacoast Sweets is another one of the many companies adjusting the way they do business because of COVID-19.
The company specializes in chocolate candies like, peanut butter, coconut and peppermint patties.
Normally Seacoast Sweets relies on conferences, events, retail stores and hotel chains for most of their business.
The coronavirus outbreak put a stop to most of the orders, so they have been investing more in online ordering and marketing.
“We’ve seen the e-commerce go up, and it’s why we’re still hanging on right now. I think if I could give advice to any business out there, it’s if you have the ability to do e-commerce, or you’ve ever been thinking about doing e-commerce, now’s the time to do it because I think you have peoples’ attention.” Said, Kevin Anderson, owner.
Anderson also says he feels this is a good opportunity for companies to try new marketing techniques or release their new product lines while people at home have time to check them out.
