PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Former Governor of Rhode Island and Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic nomination.

On Sunday, President Joe Biden announced that he would not seek re-election, and he would not accept the Democratic nomination for the 2024 election.

“I’ve seen Kamala Harris up close fiercely protecting reproductive rights, spearheading our economic recovery, and restoring our standing in the world,” said Raimondo.

Raimondo said she thought Harris was ready, and the best choice for president to defeat Trump.

“I’m all in to elect her President,” she said.

Biden has since endorsed Harris for the Democratic nomination.
