UPDATE: Seekonk Police ID armed robbery suspects

SEEKONK, M.A. (WLNE) — The Seekonk Police Department announced the arrests of two suspects wanted for their connection to the armed robbery of a local Honey Dew Donuts.

Seekonk Police said they arrested 32-year-old Paul Curtis, of Braintree M.A., and 28-year-old Michelle Shaughnessy, of Tiverton, R.I., on Thursday around noon. 

Seekonk Police told ABC6 News both Curtis and Shaughnessy were also suspects in several other armed robberies throughout Massachusetts.

They were taken into custody at a Knight’s Inn in North Attleboro, police noted, and plan on searching the motel room when a search warrant is granted. 

Officers initially responded Wednesday around 3:40 p.m., to the Honey Dew Donuts on Central Ave after a report came forward of an armed robbery that occurred.

Curtis had fled prior to the arrival of police. 

“It was reported that the male suspect entered the business, brandished a firearm and demanded that the cash register be opened. The suspect did remove money from two separate registers,” said Lt. Matthew Jardine with the Seekonk Police Department.

The stolen amount has yet to be determined, authorities said.

Paul Curtis is facing the following offenses:

  • Armed Robbery.
  • Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
  • Conspiracy to Commit Felony.
  • Use of a Motor Vehicle in the Commission of a Felony.

Michelle Shaughnessy is facing the following offenses:

  • Armed Robbery.
  • Conspiracy to Commit Felony.
  • Use of a Motor Vehicle in the Commission of a Felony.

Shaughnessy is said to have driven the get-away car.
