Seekonk woman arrested for OUI after crashing into Plainville school

A Seekonk woman has been charged with driving drunk after striking a school sign and a tree while behind the wheel.

Plainville Police say 31-year-old Katie Crompton was traveling east on Messenger Street when she abruptly pulled left onto the property of the Wood School, crossed the sidewalk and struck a school sign before continuing through the parking lot and striking a tree.

Emergency personnel responded and determined Crompton was under the influence of alcohol.

Crompton was charged with Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol, Second Offense; and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle. She is scheduled to be arraigned this morning.
