Senior citizen dies after being struck by waste disposal truck in Narrgansett

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE)- A 90-year-old South Kingstown resident has died after being struck by a garbage truck outside the Narragansett Community Center Monday morning, police said in a statement.
Staff at the community center told ABC 6 Lilian Holmsen was a frequent visitor there and the center is a popular spot with elderly residents.
A game had been scheduled for noon, just after the accident had occurred.
A request for comment from the company that owns the truck, Narragansett Rubbish Removal, has not been returned.
The incident remains under investigation.
