Sentencing delayed for killer of elderly Woonsocket woman

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The man who murdered an elderly Woonsocket woman nearly a decade ago has had his sentencing pushed back.

Matthew Dusseault was slated to be sentenced Friday.

A jury found him guilty in January of killing 81-year-old Constance Gauthier in March of 2016.

Police said the victim’s home was in shambles to make it look like there was a robbery.

Dusseault will now be sentenced in May.
