Sergeant in state police CDL scandal retires, receives dishonorable discharge

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A sergeant accused in a Massachusetts State Police CDL licensing scandal retired and was issued a dishonorable discharge Thursday.

Sergeant Gary Cederquist, who was suspended without pay Wednesday, is among a group of troopers who under federal indictment for fraudulently conspiring to issue commercial driver licenses (CDL) to unqualified or untested individuals.

Other potential violations of law and Massachusetts State Police policy are under investigation by the state police and federal authorities.
