Several rounds fired at Providence home with off-duty city officer inside

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A weekend shots-fired incident is under investigation in Providence after a home was shot at several times.

The incident occurred on Bogman Street and an off-duty Providence officer was in the building at the time the rounds struck it.

Several shots were fired at the home where the officer was visiting his girlfriend, according to Providence police.

Police said that there is no evidence that the officer was the intended target or at all involved.

The incident remains under investigation and there is no word on any suspects.
