PROVIDENCE, RI- Two women are now safe after being prostituted out of a Providence home for at least a month.
RI State Police captain, Christopher Dicomitis said “One of the females stated to our members that quote, ‘today is the best day of my life. You all saved me’.”

The women were not allowed to call home fearing their alleged pimp, 29-year-old Damien Beverly would hurt their families.

“It’s not uncommon for these pimps to prey on the weak,” said Dicomitis.

The women are over 18 and were brought here from Massachusetts.

According to police, they were sold for sex through backpage.com.

They were paid a daily dose of heroin.

Rhode Island Sate Police along with the FBI and Homeland Security found the women Tuesday inside the Ridge Street home.

They were able to identify Beverly as the account holder on the website. In fact, Beverly came home while police were inside. He’s now in federal custody.

Investigators say pimps often go to group homes, malls, and bus stops to find troubled females who get sucked into prostitution; a lifestyle that’s hard to get out of.

“Fearing for their life, narcotic dependency and a multitude of reasons why they wouldn’t reach out to law enforcement. We do encourage them to– if they can– reach out to us and we will help them when we can,” said Dicomitis.

The women are getting counseling and treatment for their heroin addictions.

The day before they were found the women told police they’d lit a candle and prayed to be rescued.

Beverly faces a minimum of 15 years in prison.
