Sexual assault suspect to be arraigned in Newport

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — One of the two suspects accused of sexual assault in Newport will be arraigned Thursday.

25-year-old Juan Carlos Montepeque-Albizures is facing four felony charges including sexual assault, kidnapping and conspiracy.

He and Alvaro Gomez-Alvarez were arrested after police say they sexually assaulted a 27-year-old man.

Gomez-Alvarez was indicted earlier this month, and held with out bail.

Montepeque-Albizure will be in Newport Superior Court at 9:30 a.m.
