Shaws in Raynham closed for a day after beverage cooler fire

RAYNHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Shaws in Raynham was closed Monday after a beverage cooler fire yesterday morning.

According to Raynham officials, the Raynham Fire Department and Raynham Police Department received a fire alarm activation at Shaw’s, on New State Highway.

Upon arrival, officials observed smoke and fire inside the grocery store.

They learned the fire was in a beverage cooler near the self-checkout area, and fire officials used a fire extinguisher to extinguish the bulk of the fire.

Raynham Fire arrived on the scene shortly after and fully extinguished the fire.

Firefighters then removed the cooler from the store.

A restoration company was used to clean the store. The crews worked into the night, and the store opened on Tuesday.

No one was injured as a result of the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
