Shelter-in-place order still in effect during search for Maine mass shooting suspect

LEWISTON, Maine. (WLNE) — Police are still searching for the suspect in a mass shooting that took place in Maine Wednesday night.

Police have identified 40-year-old Robert Card as the suspect.

Card allegedly shot and killed 18 people, and injured 13 others.

The mass shooting and manhunt in Lewiston, Maine’s second largest city, has shut down the community, with officials asking residents to stay inside as much as possible.

The shootings Card is accused of took place in a bowling alley as well as a restaurant four miles away from each other.

Police said Card is armed and dangerous and a shelter-in-place order remains for the city and surrounding communities.
