Dan Walsh couldn’t contain his excitement when he heard about the Pokémon GO app.

"Oh my god it just came out we have to go download it!"

He and over one million others can’t seem to get enough of it.

The game taps into your phone’s camera to superimpose Pokémon characters into the real world…sending players following along to catch them.

"Even just walking down the street and stuff I’ve almost gotten hit by cars…but you have to be aware of when there are Pokémon popping up around you – you just get so sucked in."

But when players have their eyes glued to the screen…that means they’re not paying attention to where they’re going.

The Bristol County Sheriff’s Office has a warning for users. "Make sure you look both ways…it’s the simple things you sometimes forget when you’re buried in a phone all day."

Users look far and wide for Pokémon…even going to places they shouldn’t be going…like the Bristol County jail.

"I downloaded the game and to my surprise as soon as I started it up there were 3 Pokémon on the property."

Law enforcement is warning players to use common sense…because real-world rules still apply.

"It’s very concerning from law enforcement folks that I work with that hey a Pokémon could just pop up in somebody’s back yard."
