PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The nightclub Flow will remain closed through Thursday after the Providence Board of Licenses voted to unanimously to close the club following an early morning shooting.
It was just after midnight on Monday when shots rang out at Flow on Cranston Street in Providence.
According to a police report, two men allegedly shot into the club – one of them hitting a 23–year–old man in the back.
The victim is expected to be okay.
“We’ll look into that,” said Major David Lapatin of the Providence Police Monday morning. “We’re going to bring that to the board today – license board, ask for an emergency closure on the club, and we’ll go from there.”
One of the suspects is 25–year–old Robert Sudue. A witness alleges he pointed a revolver at him.
“Providence Police brought a witness to the scene and he was able to positively identify Sudue as a shooter,” lawyers said in court Monday.

Sudue allegedly fled the scene with Derek Mensah, who witnesses told the police, did not have a gun at the nightclub.
The two were eventually arrested by Cranston Police after they tried to ditch a traffic stop.
“This vehicle – this operator as well as Robert Sudue were involved at a shooting at Club Flow in Providence,” said lawyers in court on Monday.
According to a police report, the other gunman is still at large.
He is described as a black male, with cornrows, wearing a white shirt and a blue fanny pack.
Back in 2016, Flow had to be shut down temporarily for several stabbings that happened there.
The Board of Licenses will revisit the club’s fate at their meeting on Thursday.
A city representative read a letter from the club’s lawyers at the meeting: “They are agreeable to just agree to a 72 hour emergency closure,” he said.
Mensah was held without bail and is due back in court on September 3rd, and Sudue was given $75k bail with surety, and $50k bail in Providence.
