Shots fired outside a Providence jewelry store, police say

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police said that shots were fired into a jewelry store Sunday night.

The incident happened just before 7:30 p.m. at The Diamond Bar jewelry store on Wickenden Street.

When ABC 6 News crews arrived at the scene, they saw two glass windows shot out. Police officers and yellow tape surrounded the scene.

Witnesses told ABC 6 that they heard the shots, then saw a car take off. It’s unclear at this time if anything was stolen.

The store was closed at the time of the incident.

No injuries were reported.
