Show cause hearing to be held for Providence restaurant after altercation

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — An emergency show cause hearing will be held for a Providence restaurant after a security guard pulled a knife on a guest in the heat of a fight on Sunday

The Providence Board of Licenses ordered Afrique d’Lounge on Spruce Street to close due to a cutting incident that occurred.

Qasim Flynn, a security guard at Afrique D Lounge, was charged with disorderly conduct after police responded to the restaurant around 1 a.m. for a reported stabbing.

When police arrived, they were told that Flynn was allegedly in an altercation with a patron that escalated into him pulling a knife.

The patron allegedly received a cut on the forehead due to the incident.

The board ordered to restaurant to close for 72 hours before a hearing scheduled for this afternoon at 4 p.m.
