Showers and storms late Friday set the table for stellar Father’s Day weekend
A heat wave will then build into the Northeast by the middle of next week
Humidity is rising across the northeast. As a cold front approaches on Friday, sun will give way to clouds by midday. A few showers are possible out ahead of the front into the early afternoon.
Then the ‘main event’ portion of the front will arrive by the evening, bringing some downpours and thunderstorms. The strongest of storms likely remain north and west of our area.
Highs will be in the low 80s with breezy southwest winds. Those winds will likely help to weaken storms as they approach our area, but a stray stronger storm cannot be ruled out.
This cold front does come with some positives. It sweeps a coastal low out to see and keeps our weekend dry, and it also gets rid of all the humidity.
Father’s Day weekend will be spectacular, with abundant sunshine and highs in the upper 70s.
Things warm back up by Tuesday as a heat dome approaches the Northeast, Widespread 90s and increasing humidity are in the cards Wednesday through Friday. Stay tuned….
