Sickle cell anemia patient meets blood donors who have helped save his life

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Heroes were welcomed in Warwick Tuesday for the simple act of giving blood.

A sickle cell anemia patient got to meet with the donors who have made his life-saving treatment possible.

“It was very emotional to think that I would be able to meet the donors,” Alexander Ramos shared with reporter Yanni Tragellis, “To be able to see their faces and actually a pretty nice feeling.”

Ramos, a senior Justice Studies major at Rhode Island College, shared with ABC 6 that he dreams to go to law school after graduation.

The sickle-cell patient and his family said that they are grateful for the donor’s who helped to save Ramos’ life.
