Smiley, childcare officials to celebrate city’s $2 million investment in facilities

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence Mayor Brett P. Smiley will be joined Wednesday by officials from local education organizations to celebrate the city’s nearly $2 million investment in childcare.

Providence’s Early Learning Infrastructure Support Program is providing the funds to support six childcare centers and 27 family childcare homes throughout Providence.

Smiley will be joined by Beautiful Beginnings Executive Director Khadija Lewis Khan, LISC RI Senior Program Officer Erin Cox and others at Beautiful Beginnings Child Care Center at 10 a.m. to mark the investment.
