Smithfield driver accused of DUI in 3-car collision with 5 juveniles in car

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — The Smithfield Police Department said a woman is accused of driving under the influence and causing a three-car crash with five juveniles in her car.

Allison Walsh, 38, of Smithfield was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, DUI with a passenger under 13-years-old, and driving with a suspended license, among several other charges.

The department said that officers responded to a report of a three-car collision on Pleasant View Avenue around 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police added that the five juveniles in Walsh’s car were transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital for evaluation and treatment.

The crash is still under investigation and additional charges may be brought.
