Smithfield girl meets Taylor Swift; wish comes true

It's hard to believe Christmas is right around the corner!
Friday kicks off a national campaign where kids can write and send a letter to Santa and at the same time, help grant wishes for seriously-ill children.
Jordan Salvatoriello from Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and 8-year-old Cristina Tortolano from Smithfield and recipient of one of those wishes, talked to ABC 6 about the local effort.
Cristina was diagnosed with Wilms' Tumor, a cancer of the kidneys, in March of 2011. Her wish was to meet Taylor Swift.
“I got to meet her and see her concert,” Cristina said.
Taylor also gave her a signed guitar and a pick.
Make-A-Wish has teamed up with Macy's with a clever way to raise money.
“We're celebrating the launch of our 6th annual ‘Macy's Believe' Campaign,” Jordan said.
The ‘Believe' Campaign allows kids to write and mail letters to Santa in exchange for a dollar donation to Make-A-Wish.
A special event to kick this off locally will be held Friday at the Warwick Mall from 3:30-5:00 at the Believe station on the 2nd floor.
In her letter, Cristina's asked for simply, “something Taylor Swift”.
