Smithfield woman killed after being hit by wrong-way driver on Massachusetts highway
MANSFIELD, Mass. (WLNE) — A Smithfield woman was killed after being hit by a wrong-way driver on a Massachusetts highway over the weekend.
Massachusetts State Police responded to the crash on Interstate 495 in Mansfield just after 3 a.m. Saturday.
Police said the driver of a Nissan, only identified as a 35-year-old Pawtucket man, was traveling south in the northbound lanes. The car then crashed with a Toyota.
The driver of the Toyota, 31-year-old Kerrie Dolbashian, of Smithfield, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was taken to Brigham and Woman’s Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
