Snookers closed until further notice after crash knocks out power

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Snookers is closed until further notice after a box truck crashed into a utility pole early New Year’s Day.

A spokesperson for the city of Providence said police responded to Ashburton Street around 3:40 a.m. Monday for a reported crash.

Utility crews tried to restore power, but the bar posted on social media that it will be closed until further notice.

“We lost our electric service due to a traffic accident, and we will be closed until further notice,” Snookers said in the post. “There will be limited staff available to answer the phones while we are closed.”
