Things are starting to quiet after our second snow of the season. Most of our area picked up 1-3″, rising to around 4″ up 95 closer to Boston.
Untreated roads and surfaces will be slippery as we fall into a deep freeze this weekend. The Winter Solstice will occur at 4:20 AM tomorrow morning!
It will be a cloudy start, but the sun will begin to poke out in the afternoon as the cold comes roaring in.
Temperatures will barely reaching freezing, while wind chills will drop into the single-digits after sundown.
Lows drop to around 10 and Sunday’s highs will barely reach the 20s despite a day of full sunshine. Sunday night is when we will see the coldest temperatures, with lows near zero in spots!
Monday will also be sunny and cold with highs in the upper-20s. Clouds build in and temperatures moderate for Christmas Eve on Tuesday.
We could see some rain or snow showers on Christmas Eve as well, making for a festive atmosphere if they remain the latter.
Christmas Day Wednesday looks to have a blend of sun and clouds.
