Snow showers Saturday before a nice stretch of weather into next week
A weather system passing south of the area will bring parts of Southern New England a little snow on Saturday.
Chances for snow are higher for Block Island, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket as they will be closer to the storm and may see steadier and more moderate snow rates.
The steadier snow is likely through 9am, followed by scattered snow showers through the afternoon. Little to no accumulation is expected for the mainland, but the Islands could pick up 1-2″; Nantucket even has an opportunity for 3″. Temperatures Saturday will be in the mid-30s.
Sunshine will return on Sunday, and after a frigid morning afternoon highs will once again be in the mid-30s.
President’s Day will also feature plenty of sunshine with temperatures approaching 40°. Sunny and seasonable conditions (The normal high for Providence is 41°) will continue through midweek.
Clouds are expected to increase on Thursday as we track what as of now is a chilly rainstorm for next Friday. Have a great weekend!
