Social media outage for Facebook, Instagram

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — According to DownDetector, the social media company Meta is experiencing outages for its social media platforms Facebook and Instagram.

The social media platforms have collectively shown over 500,000 outages since 10:00 a.m.

ABC6 viewers have reported that they have been logged out of their Facebook accounts.

Instagram is also reportedly showing errors.

ABC6 reached out to Meta regarding this issue.

A spokesperson for Meta posted on X confirming the issue is being addressed:

We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now.
