Somerset man recovering from several gunshot wounds in Georgia, dog found

SOMERSET, MASS. (WLNE)- A Somerset man is now recovering in a Georgia hospital after being shot in his semi-truck.

According to Cobb County Police, 42-year-old James Matton was traveling on I-75 North in Georgia with his dog.

On Wednesday, around 12:41 p.m., Police discovered Matton inside his truck with several gunshot wounds.

Matton was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries, and is currently in stable condition.

Police discovered that Matton’s dog, Suzy, had gone missing after the incident.

On Thursday, a good Samaritan informed police that Suzy had been found and is taking care of her while Matton recovers from his injuries.

Police continue to investigate the shooting.
