Somerset Police arrest 3 after undercover investigation into individuals seeking sexual activity with minors

SOMERSET, Mass. (WLNE) — The Somerset Police Department said three men were arrested after a joint undercover investigation with the Swansea Police Detective Division and the Massachusetts State Police High-Risk Victims Unit into “individuals attempting to engage in commercial sexual activity with minors.”

38-yar-old Fabio Gomes and 78-year-old John Kelley, both of Taunton, and 54-year-old Gilbert Travassos, of Fall River, was charged with paying for sexual conduct with a child under 18, enticing a child under 16, and attempting to commit a crime.

The department said the operation took place on July 9 at the a location the three suspects allegedly believed they would be meeting a minor for sexual purposes.
