WESTPORT, M.A. — An armed robbery suspect wanted by Somerset Police has been arrested in Westport while committing another armed robbery, police say.
Authorities say on Tuesday, multiple calls came in around 1:30 p.m., reporting an armed robbery at the Westport Apothecary, at 784 Main Road.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Justin Tunney-Lassiter, entered the store, demanded lottery tickets, and informed the clerk he had a firearm on his person.
The frightened clerk called for help in the back of the store, prompting Tunney-Lassiter to flee the scene empty handed.
Police say some time later, Tunney-Lassiter was scene by an officer entering Harry’s General Store, at 646 American Legion Highway.
After concealing half of a steering wheel locking device and purchasing headache medicine, Tunney-Lassiter exited the store and was taken into custody.
Detectives in Somerset were searching for Tunney-Lassiter after authorities say he was waving a knife when he robbed Lil’ Audrey’s on Read Street December 5th.
