Somerset Water and Sewer Superintendent dies

SOMERSET, Mass. (WLNE) — The Somerset Board of Water and Sewer Commissioners said that the town’s Water and Sewer Superintendent Paul Sylvia died on Nov. 21.

The announcement said that Sylvia’s death was “sudden,” and that he was 74-years-old.

Over the last four years, Paul’s leadership, understanding, and dedication to his work, brought about countless infrastructure improvements, and an elevated work environment for all of his employees,” Town Administrator Mark Ullucci said. “Paul was a reassuring presence in such a difficult profession. His dedication to the Town of Somerset will forever be felt throughout this community, and we will always be grateful.”

He added that arrangements for Sylvia’s funeral had not yet been made.
