Exclusive: ABC 6 speaks with man who witnessed 25-year-old man assault his mother

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — Christian Salveti was getting ready for dinner on Saturday when he noticed a random car in his driveway on Honeyman Avenue in Middletown.

The driver and passenger were 25-year old Houshang Azimi and his 61-year-old mother.

Salveti said the two got out of the car and started arguing.

The mother then ran across the street and Salveti saw the two start fighting on his neighbors porch.

He shared the gruesome details with ABC 6 News, explaining, “He stomped on her face at least 8-10 times. He got on the ground started punching on her right to the face and neck and I did see him kick her a couple times.”

When officers arrived at the scene, they said they saw the woman bleeding heavily, adding that Azimi had blood on his hands, arms and shorts.

The 61-year-old was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but is stable, according to police.

Azimi is charged with felony domestic assault on a person over 60. He was held on bail of $150,000 with surety.
