Sonya Massey vigil to be held by BLM RI PAC

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Black Lives Matter Rhode Island PAC said that a vigil for Sonya Massey will be held Sunday night.

The vigil will be at the Rhode Island State House at 7:30 p.m.

BLM RI PAC said that attendees are “encouraged to bring candles,” and that the goal of the event is “unity and remembrance.”

Video of Massey being shot in her home by a police officer was released after a grand jury indicted the officer, Sangamon County Sheriff’s Deputy Sean Grayson.
