SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. — A South Kingstown home went up in flames again Friday morning after police responded to the same scene Thursday night.
The fire completely decimated the home.
However, firefighters faced another challenge in battling the flames — the bitter cold.
The home on 780 Glenn Rock Road in South Kingstown was completely destroyed, and the cold made it difficult for firefighters to combat the fast moving flames.
The fire broke out at the home on Glenn Rock Road Thursday night. However, firefighters say the wind was not a factor, but the extreme cold forced them to rotate crews in-and-out so everyone could warm up..
“We’re using a lot more manpower than we normally would use, but we just want to rotate people out because of the weather conditions,” said Fire Chief Steven Pinch of the South Kingstown Fire Department.
Two people were taken to the hospital.
Officials are investigating how the fire started.
